If you follow the tips listed below, you can do quite a lot to achieve better healing and improve your recovery time.

There are quite a few things that you can do to prepare your body for the operation. In order to be fit for the procedure, you should...

  • Discontinue all blood thinners 2 weeks prior to surgery such as Vitamin E, Aspirin, Fish Oil, Gingko and any medication such as Motrin and Advil. They could all result in bleeding during surgery. Please consult with your own physician.
  • If you have an underlying illness, you should consult with your physician (cardiologist) before you travel abroad for surgery.
  • In case you have an underlying illness, obtain a certificate “fit for surgery” from your local physician. He/she may have to adjust your medication intake.
  • Smoking reduces the blood supply to the skin and may be related to complications after surgery. You must stop smoking any tobacco for 4 weeks prior and 4 weeks after surgery.
  • You must not drink any alcoholic beverages the night before surgery.
  • Do not use any perfume or makeup on the day of surgery.
  • Remove your nail polish in particular gel or acrylic nail polish.
  • Bring loose comfortable clothing.
  • Do not drink or eat anything by mouth 8 hours before surgery.
  • Be emotionally and physically fit

  • Order foods online ( take out)
  • Make sure your refrigerator has some nice healthy foods
  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
  • Do not drink any alcoholic beverages
  • Avoid smoking four weeks after surgery
  • Have a friend or someone you trust come by. You may need a helping hand
  • Take it easy for one month
  • Start easy exercises after one month
  • Wait for three month before you go back to your normal exercise routine
  • Ask your physician for details on you particular surgery procedure
