Procedure for breast lifting
There are different types of techniques for breast lifts, the most common procedure involves an anchor-shaped incision by following the natural contour of the breast. The incision outlines the area from which breast skin is removed and defines the new location for the nipple. When the excess skin has been removed, the nipple and areola are moved to the higher position.
Stitches are usually located around the areola in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple area, and along the lower crease of the breast. Some patients, especially those, who have small breasts and minimal sagging, may be candidates for modified procedures requiring less extensive incisions. For example, one such procedure is the “doughnut (or concentric) mastopexy,” in which a circular incision is made around the areola, and a doughnut-shaped area of skin is removed. If patients having an implant inserted along with their breast lift. The surgeon will make a pocket directly under the breast tissue or deeper under the muscle of the chest wall, to place the implant.

The plastic surgeon will make every effort to make your scars as inconspicuous as possible. Still, it’s important to remember that breast lift surgery / mastopexy scars are permanent. They often remain red for months, then gradually become less obvious, sometimes eventually fading to thin white lines. Fortunately, the scars can usually be placed so that you can wear even low-cut tops.
Duration of Operation:
One to three hours
After breast lift surgery, the patient will be wrapped in an elastic bandage or gauze dressing or surgical bra. A small tube may be placed in each breast to drain blood and fluids for the first day or two. The extent of the post-operative swelling and bruising is depending on whether you tend to bruise or swell easily. The amount patient can expect vary for each individual but past surgeries or injuries should be a good indication. Applying cold compresses or ice packs will reduce swelling and relieve discomfort. Many patients use a watertight plastic sandwich bag filled with frozen berries or peas. The regular icing is the key to relieving swelling. The bandages will be removed a day or two after surgery, though patient will continue wearing the surgical bra around the clock for several weeks until the swelling and bruising subside. In most cases, stitches will be removed in one to three weeks. Sometimes the surgeon will use only dissolvable sutures. If breast skin is very dry following surgery, moisturizer can be applied several times a day, but the suture area must be kept dry at all times.

The best candidates for a breast reduction are women who are physically and emotionally healthy. Breasts of any size can be lifted. If the patient is planning to have more children, it may be a good idea to postpone your breast lift but there are no special risks that affect future pregnancies. For example, mastopexy usually doesn’t interfere with breast-feeding.

Breast lift and reduction, tummy tuck and Vaser Liposuction
When embarking on such a life altering decision to have plastic surgery in a foreign country, it was recommended that I make contact with Beate Jungst from Intermedisol. It turned this was the best advice I could have been given. In doing this, the stress on me was eliminated and entrusted into the very capable hands of Beate. From this point Beate herself asked all of the necessary and appropriate questions which gave her the ability to go ahead and find the perfect team to cater for my very personal journey.
The surgeons that were appointed to my case were both amazing. They listened to me and understood what I required from my surgeries, as I had had a multiple birth and was in need of a breast reduction and lift alongside a full tummy tuck to repair the damage brought about by carrying my beautiful babies over 16 years ago.
This has been a wonderful and very positive experience for me in many ways.
I am nearly 5 weeks post op and couldn’t be happier. Thank you to everyone who was involved in taking extra special care of me.
